The Customer

Xperix Inc.; in cooperation with GemaltoS.A., a world leader in digital security, has been award a contract to provide a biometric voting system for the Yemen government.

Gemaltois at the heart of our evolving digital society where it gives billions of people the security to make the most of their digital lifestyle; develops secure software and operating systems which they embed in billions of trusted devices of many kinds, like UICC cards, banking cards, tokens, electronic passports or ID cards. They personalize these devices, and deploy the software and services for managing them and the sensitive data they hold throughout their life-cycle.
 

The Solution

Yemen has come one step closer to adopting democracy and is now preparing for the new presidential elections by strategically investing the funds received from the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) into an integrated system consisting of Xperix’s RealScan-D and Gemalto’sCoesysSolution.

RealScan-D is one of the world’s fastest live scanners and boasts a scan rate close to 20 fps. It contains a powerful DSP utilizing Xperix’s fast image-processing algorithms and advanced live scan technology. Its compact form and USB interface makes it suitable for mobile jump-kits that can be used for on-site registration. Its proven reliability and numerous certifications (FBI IQS, FIPS 201, WHQL, CE, FCC, UL, etc.) makes it the ideal choice for live scan applications.

Approximately four thousand eight hundred of RealScan-D live scanners will be supplied for the electronic voting project in Yemen.
